How It Works
EN/ISO temperature ratings have three numbers: Comfort (average female sleeper), Lower Limit (average male), and Extreme (survival only). Buy for the Comfort rating, not the Extreme. Cold sleepers should buy 10-15F warmer than expected lows. Your sleeping pad matters as much as your bag — cold ground steals heat fast. R-value 3+ for 3-season, R-value 5+ for winter.
